It’s been a good long while since I’ve set fingers to keyboard to write a post. There have been A LOT of changes. Let’s start with the big one, why don’t we?
We bought a new house and moved. No reason to worry about finding us, though. It’s immediately next door to the old place (which is still part of the farm). This move has allowed us to develop some actual, honest studio space. This means we can increase our productions and start offering classes here at home. Sadly, as soon as we did all of this, the demand ramped up, too. There’s about the same amount of product available in spite of the new digs. Turns out that buying and remodeling a house does not lead to having extra time. I’m told that someday… maybe…
We added some dairy sheep! They’re East Friesian dairy sheep and are sweet as can be. They’re young, not bred yet, so there’ll no sheep’s milk or sheep’s milk cheese just yet, but it’s coming.
We added pigs! OK, really, Shawn added pigs. Initially, he wanted Kune Kune (they’re grazers) that could run with the other animals. He couldn’t find any that he could afford and settled for a Kune Kune cross. Turns out Jeanette is fine with that as long as they help turn her garden areas.
We’re now on Etsy. Yeah, we’ve been there for a long time, but we finally added our brooms to Jeanette’s fibery mix. You can find us at havencroftfarm.etsy.com. And, yeah, we added the brooms almost 3 years ago. We’ve been so busy, we forgot to update everything (besides the shop link) here.
And, finally, Jeanette is starting to schedule some classes for here at her home studio. You can check these out here: CLASSES
I’ll try to write more before another three years have passed.
